HBSA 90th Annual General Meeting, 27-28 April 2018
The Hairdressing and Beauty Suppliers Association (HBSA) held their 90th Annual General Meeting on 28th April 2018. The HBSA membership is comprised of manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers for the Hairdressing and Beauty industry. The main purpose of the association is to help hairdressers and beauticians to work safely, in a safe environment and to deliver the safest service to end consumers.
The AGM took place at the Oakley Court Hotel in Windsor. The hotel is a gothic masterpiece and was the location for over 200 films during the 1960’s and 1970’s including the world-famous Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and the original Half a Sixpence (1967).
The Annual General Meeting is an opportunity for the membership to receive up to date information on the work of the HBSA, to elect new members to the Council and to sign off the Annual accounts. We also have a business speaker and this year we were delighted to welcome Pauline Sanderson who has a world record for being the first person to travel from the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea all the way to the highest point on earth, summitting Mount Everest.
The AGM weekend is a great opportunity for members to get together and to network in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Sarah Cawkwell (President) commented: ‘This year’s Annual General Meeting was a great success and the feedback has been excellent. The HBSA is in a unique position to share information and to support members. There are many challenges ahead, and, the HBSA is in a great place to work for the advancement of our industry.”
